EkoKat

The factory Highest quality yacht build.  No compromise.

The Ekokat Yacht international factory facility is run by shipyard specialists Stawad Yachts International. Located immediately adjacent to world leaders in advanced yacht building, such as McConaghy Yachts with their largest international facility, we are just 15 miles from Macau which is less than 1 hour from Hong Kong. Our neighbours also include many of the world’s leading product, tech and software manufacturers such as BMW, Dell, HP, Intel, IBM, Samsung and Sony.

China’s annual infrastructure spending now surpasses that of the United States and the European Union combined and this location brings multiple benefits and key advantages, such as scale, skilled labour, disciplined craftsmen, international transport connections and lower overheads. Along with the highest level of quality control it was and remains the natural and obvious choice for Ekokat.

Your luxury power catamaran yacht therefore benefits directly from the highest possible level of manufacturing skills and the most cost effective access to quality international parts worldwide. This ultimately drives you to an unprecedented and unbeatable final purchase price and after delivery our service continues with warranty and after sales support from EkoKat’s technical division providers, Twisted Marine based out of the United Kingdom.

Stawad WaveRider Hull

Ekokat and the Proven WaveRider Hull design

The Stawad WaveRider hull series design was sea trialled by the Ekokat team with hull/yacht number 5 in July 2024. WaveRider effortlessly does exactly as its name suggests, cutting through, and riding through the highest of seas with precision. The design with its multiple chines ensures oncoming water flow is channelled through the tunnel following its rear trajectory as efficiently as possible at high speeds.

As Ekokat is a performance power catamaran capable of speeds of 25-26 knots, WaveRider is perfect for reducing catamaran slamming, which can be noisy and interfere with boat steering and performance control. It also protects the boat against wear and tear. Ekokat’s foredeck (lounge on the bow) and tops of the hulls at the front of the boat, sit 2.6 metres above the water level. This means it is the perfect boat for cruising in locations and conditions with big waves. With a medium sea state and waves of 1-1.5 metre (4-5ft) in height, guests can happily sit up front and not get wet as well as enjoy a smooth ride.

Furthermore, Ekokat’s ‘bridgedeck’, the horizontal part of the structure that joins the 2 hulls together, is a very generous 1.2 metres (3.6ft) above the waterline, again ensuring as little disturbance from water flowing under it, especially at high speeds. Many yacht brand designers sacrifice a high bridgedeck level from the water level, as it means reducing internal layout head height. Ekokat do not have hull bedrooms so we do not have this issue and can therefore have the boat sit higher out of the water to provide a smoother ride and less chance of getting wet at higher speeds

Factory Visit and Sea Trial

The Ekokat Team and buyers visited the factory facility in July 2024 for a sea trial of WaveRider power catamaran hull #5, and tour of the factory floor. Yachts #6 and #7 of the WaveRider hull design were in-build and Ekokat is scheduled to continue the series with hull #8-38.

Ekokat Voyager 60 CE A Classification

The European CE Yacht Compliance Classification System is generally recognised worldwide as being the most comprehensive and rigorous in yacht build standards. CE “Conformité Européenne” dictates the standards for construction and sale of yachts and vessels cannot be legally sold in the EU unless they have past the tests to receive the CE Certification. This regulation applies to all yachts for sale and recreational craft from 2.5 to 24 meters.

CE CLASS A is the highest classification available. Yachts that are CE A are designed for large sea voyages (everywhere), in which wind force may exceed 8 on the scale of Beaufort and waves can also exceed a significant height of 4 meters. These yachts are designed largely to be self-sufficient in this rather hostile environment.
