He wanted to retain flexibility and the ability to slip into small bays, cala’s and tight anchorages close-up to the beach, and continue to be able to just hop aboard and go out for the day with his wife without it all being a palaver. This seemingly meant the range of 80-120ft boats was on his wish list which just wasn’t going to work without crew.

The dilemma included his wife that would understandably not look at a boat with a galley-down (in the hull) or without immediate access to fresh air and the outside, as motion sickness would roll in and prevent a pleasurable day for her.

Furthermore, there had been so many ruined multi-day family and friend outings, with somebody inevitably starting to suffer from seas sickness, which drove the quest to find a boat where ‘ALL’ guests sleep and stay high-up on the main deck or above levels.

The CEO then noted the Four Seasons Explorer Catamaran at 128ft had accomplished it with ALL of their 12 guest bedrooms being located at main deck level with direct over-the-top sea views.

So surely the main deck salon can be ‘BOTH’ a huge open plan Penthouse apartment by day, and a luxury 3 or 4 bedroom presidential suite at night? Seemingly silly and impossible, but not if you are a visionary.
